The number "2208" refers to the survey point from which the tree is referenced—you will see the white pipe marking the survey point nearby. This point is 22 hundred feet south, and 8 hundred feet east, of the origin point, which is near the northwest corner of the Arboretum. The "26382" refers to the azimuth and distance to the tree from the survey point: 263 degress clockwise from due north and 82 feet distant. | Believe it or not, these are related to hickory nuts and walnuts. |
