Take one of the "Greenwalks" at Grant Park or one of the other Portland Parks.
Portland makes much use of her rich resources of artists.
The downtown
transit mall is sprinkled with sculptures, mostly whimsical. The Westside
MAX rapid-transit line made extensive use of art in all of its stations.
In Hillsboro, the western half of the line, each station has a fanciful wind vane:
one of them is a whole farm that rotates high in the sky. The tunnel station
under the zoo has many science displays on the walls...from many different disciplines.
Try to figure out what's wrong with the value of pi in the middle of the
east bound tunnel. What happened? |
